How to make a Christmas tree decoration

On 25.11.18 my class made Christmas decorations, I made a Christmas tree out of cupcake cups and a stick. If you wanna know how to make one just carry on reading.

Materials

• 1 Ice-block stick
• 3 Cupcake cups
• Glue
• Ribbon
• 3 pom poms

Method
1. Fold you cupcake cups into a half, then to a little fold in the middle.
2. Glue you cupcake cups onto the ice-block stick.
3. Glue them from the bottom to the top.
4. Cut the ribbon from the risk to your elbow.
5. Glue some pom poms on the Christmas tree. (optional)
(When you glue the cupcake cups onto the stick you glue from the bottom to the top)
You are finished.

Athletics

Yesterday I had athletics it was awesome because I participated in everything. I learned that I can jump up to 1.17 meters in high jump. The part that I enjoyed was long jump because I came 4th, The easy part for me was sprints because I came a place. The hard part was helping others try there best. I was also learning how to be supportive and being resilient.

Hanga Waka

Last Friday we tested our boats to see how many coins it could carry, The coins were real to. The real easy part was putting it altogether to see if it would float, the hard part was to make my boat out of only two things.  I used tin-foil and straws also masking tape. The boat was fantastic and it was awesome.

Floating and Sinking

We have did a test on our boats and it was about density, density is when there is weight on something that is floating. When we did our first test all of our boats were buoyant because there was no weight on it. 

Paying it forward

If I had the chance to travel back into the 1930's I would take blanket so they can stay warm, I would also take some food and other materials so that everyone there wouldn't be hungry and starve. I would take some chocolates back so that everyone who was there can have something in return from as. Overall if I could travel back in time I would take all those things back into the mid-1930's. 

Hanga Waka

This week and last week, I have been learning how to build a boat. The good part was having fun and finishing it and the hard part was finishing the work on time and day. My favourite part was building it together with others in my class.

Assembly

Last week was my class's assembly and it was good. The easy part was collaborating with others and being able to help, The hard part was performing with confidence and making my item as good as it can be. The best part was participating in a item and helping others. Here is one of our items.

Taumarere History

What is the difference of Taumarere from now and then? Back in the olden days they used to wash there clothes in the awa but now we machines so we could wash our clothes properly. Back then they never had steam trains they had to use coal to run the train, in nowadays  we use a steam engine. Before we were even thought they never had technology they had to think of what to do and to think of something to play with. 

Reading with little kids

On the 07.11.18, I went to go and read with the little children in our school. The easy part was getting them to listen but the hard part was trying to keep them entertained while reading the book. Once I kept them excited we kept taking turns at reading and it turned out to be fun. Here are some photos of us reading to them.

On Sunday the 14.10.18 we all arrived at the beach in Waitangi, I excitedly hoped out of the car and ran down to the sand. It was so warm and the water was so cold. I moved all the food to the chair by the beach. I was so hungry my stomach was rumbling, Once I finished I quickly ran down to the beach and jumped in.

Once I had jumped in I was cold as, I got used to it. All my cousins had came and jumped in. We all played a game. I started to get cold so I just lied on the ground. I got hot again so I expeditiously ran to the water, It started to get warm after a while.

 As all my little cousins got out we all breathlessly ran down to the bridge and instantly hopped on the bridge and jumped off, We all did a chain. It was so fun because I had most of my cousins there. The day had finished and I was extremely tired.

Fun Run

On Friday the 7th of September we had cross country but we called it fun run. My race got called out we were all laughing at the starting line. We took some photos before we started the race. We starting running until we went around the corner and then we started walking. Once we got half way and we started to have a mud fight it was awesome but once we finished that the boys came and we had a huge mud fight. It was incredible once we finished we hugged one of our teachers and she got angry. When we finished we went for a swim and then walked back to the beginning. It was very awesome. 

Taumarere Awa

This week I have been learning about Taumarere. It was easy at the start until I got confused, then I understood. The easy part was starting. The hard part was getting confused and trying to understand, but the important this is that I finished and this is my work.

Project Island

Today I have been researching about Project Island, Project island is where my class and another class is going. I have been researching on how you get there and how long it takes to get there. Here is my work that I did.

Mould? Mould is like mycotoxin, mycotoxin is fungus. Mould spreads everywhere like there's mould floating in the air right in front of you (if you wanna see it well you can't because it's impossible to see). Mycotoxin is fungus spread right around the whole wide world. 

If you see mould or fungus anywhere that means you are unable to eat it and that is called uneatable, uneatable is when you can't eat it because something is wrong with it or there's something gross in it. One of the reasons will be because there is mould or fungus on it or in it.

So if you see any mould or mycelia it's gross to eat and touch, If you eat it you'll feel sick and gross inside. That means you won't be able to go to school. So be ware of mould on any food. 

If you see anything that is mouldy or yuck make sure you either throw it in the bin or the scraps. Never leave it out or else a little kid will eat and get sick. If you think you mould is different comment down below and tell me why.

Writing

Today I have been working on explain writing, The hard part was trying to think of some reasons and the easy part was writing my reasons into paragraphs. My favourite part was finishing off so my teacher can mark it.

Reading

For panui/reading my LI: To think critically and I have mastered that so my next step is recognising and understanding the language feature and structures used, that is my next step for reading. The easy part was reading every night but the hard part was trying to bring my homework everyday. My favourite part was going down on to the mat and reading with the teacher.

Math reflection

For maths I have been learning how to problem solve, I can communicate with the group that i'm working with and I can ask my teacher or other people for help. I need to work on explaining because I walk around and ask things then I don't know how to explain it so. I need to work on explaining my work and Look for patterns instead of putting them in random spots.

Combinations for Maths

Today we have been learning how to sort teacups into different combinations. I really like looking for different combinations because there was so much colors to choose from. There was blue, red, yellow, green. The easy part was finding the colors, the Hard part was trying to look for combinations with different types of colors. You can only do the same combination once so that was the hard part.
